Editorial - Project 2

Abstract of the Design Problem: Our society tends to dislike people who are not like them especially when it comes to the topic of homosexuality and gay marriage. We need more openness and tolerance for difference.

Mariam and I are going to work together on this project. Our goal is to get awareness out there in simple but almost obvious ways. We are going to use symbols and things that are already associated with homosexuality to do this. Such things are the color purple and the upside down pink triangle.

Right now our main project will be to make rings. I think we could put the symbols on the rings. So we could have the triangle on one.

Once again I used wikipedia for help to do this assignment.

What are these rings going to be made of? Are they going to function just as finger rings or can they be worn other ways like the rainbow rings?

hi mai, how can you make your rings different from others already out there like it? how are you getting these rings made? are you planning on sending your designs to an outside manufacturer? where and how are you intending to sell these rings? are you planning to sell them?

The abstract here is good. The rest is simply a position statement and light at that. see Amy's blog for developed critical thinking and an understanding of the various sides/perspectives on the issue at hand. In order to design an effective solution, you must have a clear understanding of the opposition....we discussed this in class and it is on the Design Problem 2 project sheet....please attend to this ASAP so that your work can be truly effective. You are a bit behind.

Amy and Liz's questions are good. They are helpful, leading questions....take their lead/intention.

I like your topic, I think you two could have a really nice project. What other ideas becides the rings have you thought about? I do like the ring idea though, liz and amy asked all the questions about that idea that I was going to.
